Months after Kochi Corporation’s e-governance services reached a standstill, the neighborhood frame started evaluating works achieved by way of Tata Consultancy Services, the carrier company of the mission. Though around 14 online services were planned, just a few, like issuing birth, loss of life, and marriage certificates online, issuing certificates of building permits, and trade offerings online, have started to date.
An assembly was held on Wednesday with Kochi Corporation, TCS, and Information Kerala Mission (IMK) officers to start quantifying the e-governance services provided via TCS. “The Corporation will use the know-how of Information Kerala Mission to quantify the works carried out through the TCS thus far,” KP Vinayan, secretary of Kochi Corporation, instructed TNM. Despite being the most prominent municipal organization within the kingdom, Kochi Corporation has not begun a green e-governance device for the city.
The e-governance carrier, which started in February 2018 after a protracted postponement, has not grown fully purposeful. And the only few services that had been supplied have been stalled for a reason that previous couple of months. Kochi Corporation had in advance blamed TCS for the state of affairs.
The Corporation determined to quantify the works finished up to now using the courier company because the neighborhood frame had not monitored TCS’s services to date. “The Corporation does not have an IT expert to evaluate the works being accomplished using TCS. We will entice the quantification quickly and could build a new schedule by updating the older one,” stated KP Vinayan.
