With a growing concern about intellectual health in the United States, the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center is applying to offer more intellectual health and dependency counselors to people who want those offerings, especially in rural regions like West Texas. Dr. Lori Rice-Spearman, Dean of the School of Health Professionals, says TTUHSC serves 108 counties. And because it’s no longer smooth for many humans in outlying regions to get to a big metropolis for an intellectual fitness difficulty, the School of Health Professionals is supplying an answer. It educates mental fitness counselors online through an application known as Tele counseling.
Dr. Rice-Spearman explains, “So these programs, a Master’s Degree in Mental Health, a Master’s Degree in Addiction Counseling, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling are all done online, so we’re assembly the learner wherein they’re and then, they, in turn, can offer to counsel via Telecounseling certificates which are a part of their curriculum. We’re the primary program in the state that requires all of our graduates to have a diploma in Telecounseling. Dr. Rice-Spearman says every other developing discipline is the Physician Assistant, a function that may make from $85,000 to upwards of $ 250,000 among those who’ve been in the profession for many years.
